PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

With the steep rise of immigration in the early 20th century, eugenic organizations promoted their view of the immigrants, primarily from eastern Europe, as "inferior stock," thus detrimental to the United States. Joining forces with various organizations, eugenicists promoted a "scientific" view to steep the tide of, as eugenicist saw them, "undesirables." Eugenics led to the Immigration Restriction Act of 1924 and a sweeping adoption of sterilization laws across the nation.
