C: Controlling idea Statement
E: Example(s) that can be used to support central idea
The only thing this activity does not address in the ending, which also starts with an E.
I recommend that you teach students to make outlines or rough drafts that use the conclusion to rephrase or reflect in some way, not simply restate things that have already been written in the introduction and body.
