This unit presents 7 informational text articles based on citizenship. High quality photographs engage students and enhance their learning. These articles provide detailed information in a very basic format.
After each article you will find a page that includes 2 writing prompts that ask students to summarize and synthesize their learning by analyzing both the text and photographs.
These reading and writing tasks are designed to give young students complex information in a simple, student friendly format. These tasks may be achieved through shared reading and writing, small group activities, or individual student work. (Detailed instructions are provided).
