This is a really fun STEM activity to do with your students. I read the book How to Catch a Leprechaun to my students. After discussing ways to trap a leprechaun, the students created traps. I divided the students into 8 groups. I let them draw cards to see what materials they would have to use. I included some blank cards for you to add your materials on. I then gave each group a leprechaun and a plan sheet. After each group completed their traps, they had to present their design to the class. Once everyone completed their presentations, we had a gallery walk.
