Use this resource to teach your students the 5 steps in citing textual evidence with two original texts about Stonehenge.
The 5 steps are:
1. Know your vocabulary
2. Read the Prompt and Texts
3. Formulate a controlling idea with thesis
4. Locate relevant evidence in the text that specifically supports your controlling idea.
5. Use proper conventions to cite that evidence in body paragraphs.
In this resource you'll get:
★ 2 posters: 1 with vocabulary, 1 with the 5 steps to citing evidence
★ 2 interactive notebook foldables: 1 for relevant vs. irrelevant evidence, and 1 with evidence starters to record a model of a citation.
★ 2 original video clips: 1 about relevant vs. irrelevant evidence and 1 showing how to find relevant evidence in a text.
These video clips are now in the zip file as separate files along with being embedded in the pdf to ensure you have easy access to them. :)
★ 2 original texts about Stonehenge
Use this to help your students understand the process to cite relevant evidence in their essays with ease!
