★★★★★ This resource makes implementing learning targets in P.E. easy!

Kids have always wanted to know, “What are we doing in P.E. today?” Learning targets really just answer that question! And, if you can get your daily learning targets posted in the hall or gym where students can see them, you won’t have to hear that question a million times a day! Read on:

Current educational trends emphasize the importance of conducting lessons with specific learning targets. Many school districts require that daily learning targets are posted. Learning targets help students know what they are expected to learn that day. Learning targets can help students be able to articulate what they are LEARNING, and not just tell say the fun activity they did that day.

Learning targets can also help keep the teacher focused on where they want to lead their students. Especially if teachers teach six different subjects and/or several different grade levels of students each day, having the learning targets posted can help them stay on track with their sequential teaching steps.

1. A link to SHAPE America's National P.E. Standards: The National P.E. Standards website is a must, since most P.E. programs in our nation use the 5 “SHAPE” standards for physical education programs; so your learning outcomes and learning targets will both start here!

2. A link to one school district's amazing website where they've used the SHAPE National P.E. standards to create their own learning outcomes, and learning targets-all on one easy-to-see document. You can incorporate their standards, or use them as a starting point to create your own!

3. I created for you 5 READY-TO-USE PowerPoint templates to use for your own "Learning Target Posters!" I started with the Shape/Learning Target Standards and designed 5 posters you can use on your own "Learning Targets Bulletin Board." I included cool background graphics that teens will like! This will be impressive in your P.E. hallway or gym!

4. I also created and included 8 template slides that you can use to start creating posters for your learning outcomes, learning targets, and/or daily activity learning targets. Use the templates, then cut and paste in the targets you want to use and print!

This resource is just what you need to get you organized and on track for using learning targets in your P.E. program; AND for templates so you can make a "Learning Targets Bulletin Board."

Why re-invent the wheel? Let's help each other meet standards and still have time for quality physical activities in our P.E. classes.
