An activity designed to help adult EFL learners to practice giving instructions in English. This skill can be useful for trainers, technicians and even help-line staff.
The worksheet includes examples of language which can be used to give instructions as well as sequencing language. A lesson plan is provided.
Sequencing language can help students organise their spoken discourse more logically and that this, in turn, leads to more efficient communication.
As well as improving the capacity of learners to give instructions, I have found that this worksheet promotes the use of logically ordered speech.
The activity also helps consolidate the use of prepositions of place.
I regularly use this worksheet myself.
