This is a guide for a 40 minute lesson on making GIF files. Students will make their own GIFs by the end of the lesson and learn more about what they are.
What does GIF mean? Graphic Interchange Format (get it? Graphics that move = interchange)
What are they used for? More than just entertainment actually, these images are shown to motivate 3-4x more purchases for websites that use moving images to advertise products or banner ads.
You will need
10-15 pictures of yourself, in between taking each, move SLIGHTLY.
Save the files in a folder.
Number them from the first that you took to the last.
Instructions from start to finish are included in this TPT resource. This is a very engaging and fun lesson. Its an interactive, free website, but the instructions help facilitate the activity and give students a goal to finish and complete in a portfolio as all of my technology lessons do.
