Reinforce sight words, practice sequencing, nouns/verbs, and writing with this fun and engaging emergent reader and corresponding center activities! My "How to Make a Valentine" mini book introduces time order words and features simple text that shows each step of making a valentine. I have included two levels of writing practice. For beginning writers, a traceable sentence starter is included. Students will draw a picture of who they would give a valentine to. They will either complete or write a sentence to match the picture. Additional response activities include sequencing activities and noun/verb practice. I have included a full color sequencing puzzle, to match the reader, as well as a cut and paste sequencing activity. After completing the sequencing activity, students will use the included templates to make a valentine. To practice nouns/verbs, I have included a full color pocket chart sorting activity. Students will sort pictures of nouns or verbs under the correct header cards. They will also draw and label valentine nouns/verbs.
