Travel Journal Activity:
After reading How To Make An Apple Pie and See the World, the students can practice map skills and sequencing by creating a travel journal that tracks the main character’s journey around the globe to find the ingredients she needs to make her pie.
Two versions included:
1. Full- Page Travel Journal
-includes larger font and images (great for younger grades)
-perfect template to make a “travel suitcase”
2. Half- Page Travel Journal
-includes smaller font and images (great for older grades)
-perfect template to create a mini-book
Different templates for the journal pages and cut-n-paste handouts are included to help you differentiate the activity to meet your students’ needs.
Sequence of Events Book:
After reading How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World, students can also sequence the steps the main character took to prepare the Apple Pie. Different versions are included to help you differentiate the activity to meet your students' needs including a cut –n-paste version and fill-in versions with and without lines.
Bushel of Apple Adjectives Book:
To further students’ study of the book or as part of an apple unit, you can engage your students in this fun hands-on activity, which requires students to use their five senses to help them brainstorm adjectives to describe apples.
