This resource is intended to give to families to encourage them to engage their child in meaningful activities over the summer to avoid the "summer slide."
It is created from an Ontario Kindergarten perspective - which is a play-based program and values core skills such as phonics, basic mathematics, gross and fine motor skills, social skills, experimenting and building, etc.. However, the page itself does not say "Kindergarten." This is meant as a friendly, simple, idea-starting letter (as opposed to an overwhelming list of things to do!). It uses Canadian spelling.
I included a copy of this in a baggy along with bubbles, a piece of sidewalk chalk (wrapped in plastic wrap), crayons, pencils and erasers, and a levelled reading book - as a gift for an end-of-the-school-year gift to each student.
Thanks for your download! If you found this resource useful (and/or would like to suggest more like it), please leave some feedback! Happy Summer Vacation, #teacherfriends!
