This activity is designed to allow students to share knowledge gleaned from Thomas Foster's "How to Read Literature Like a Professor", often assigned as (summer) reading for AP Literature. Students are assigned 1-2 chapters and must make a two-sided poster (shaped like an open book). One side pulls out the chapter's main ideas (especially what to "look out for" when applying that chapter's ideas to a new text). The other side allows students to provide an exemplar interpretation of this skill in action on a new text. RUBRIC included so that teachers can assess the poster, its presentation, and its content.
