The following is a student-led group project presentation to divide chapters of Thomas Foster's "How to Read Literature like a Professor" throughout the school year by pairing works with chapters. Each group has a role for each student: One student presents the chapter's key findings, one student cites Foster's or the student's literary examples, one student cites how the chapter applies to the current studied work, and one student cites media or popular culture examples. Students are assessed on the quality and content of their presentation, their public speaking skills, MLA formatting conventions, and presentation and PowerPoint interest. It's a fun way to deepen a student's reading and appreciate literature in a meaningful, everyday manner.
