This is a great resource for your families!
It has been a dream of mine to make a video like this. At my school our Kindergarten and First Grade students take home a nightly reading book for homework. The book is at their independent level.
Many families aren't sure what to do when their emerging reader brings home their homework book. This 7 minute video explains how to support your child as they are learning how to read. It includes tips about doing a picture walk, encourages pointing to the words and cross checking, asking questions at the end, keeping it fun, and extension ideas (like reading the book again to a stuffed animal). The video has voice overs and some actual footage of me reading with my own daughter at home (She is a Kindergartener, Fountas and Pinnell level B).
The file is a PDF that includes the link to the video. The link is on Google drive and only those with the link can view the video. If you purchase this product, you will have access to the link and my permission to send the link to your students' families.
