A special running record form, detailed coding and scoring directions, and tips for analyzing the results to plan instruction are part of this assessment kit.
I've been giving running records for years, first as a Reading Recovery teacher, and later as an early literacy specialist teaching guided reading. It's amazing how much you can learn about a child's oral reading from a running record! I've also conducted workshops for teachers on using running records.
