    Description

I use music, literature or quotes to tell stories people relate to. It is vitally important to speak a language students relate with. Music has always played a key role culturally, through all generations. Music stories touch the heart, make us think and can motivate decisions, thought and actions. Music can be studied and applied in any learning situation. I have found that by using music that my students find relative, I can teach about subjects that normally are difficult discussion subjects. By selecting timely songs, I can get students to discuss not just the words but the meaning behind those lyrics. This is one reason why music videos are so popular – they create a visual picture of the story in the song. In the 4 songs I have chosen to use in my lesson plans I have been able to discuss some diverse subjects.

This Bundled Lesson includes plans and worksheets with possible answers for 4 selected pieces of Music. The songs included are:

    TRY by Colbie Caillat

The House that Built Me by Miranda Lambert

Love the Way You Lie by Rihanna
