I have used this format of article critique for years. It is great practice for informational text analysis and students always find it to be meaningful work. It is Common Core aligned.
Students can be given an article to read as a whole class, in small groups, pairs, or as individuals. They are tasked with finding basic information about the text, the main idea, unfamiliar words, and writing a summary of the information they learned.
