Most Students HATE to Write! Urghh! But I Still LOVE Teaching Them How!
The first PowerPoint consists of 23 slides and will demonstrate to students how to correctly write an introduction for an essay responding to literature. Examples are included.
The second PowerPoint consists of 8 slides and will reinforce the beginning lesson of writing introductions with further practice.
To help relieve the boredom of writing, the activity for further practice will allow students to listen to a pop song for which their prompt is based.
Relevancy is very important in helping students to stay on task and capture their interest for such an abhorred activity!
Students often do not know what information belongs in an introduction to correctly introduce a literary work and the overall topic.
This PowerPoint will instruct students to take notes on the guidelines of writing the five required elements that belong in an introduction which INCLUDES A THESIS STATEMENT!
In addition, a practice activity is included so that students may practice writing thesis statements in class with the teacher’s guidance.
Often my students complain about so much practice but I always tell them that practice will BURN IT IN THE BRAIN!
***UPDATED TO NOW INCLUDE TWO POWER POINTS AND TWO HANDOUTS FOR THE SAME PRICE!
