{Each topic follows the same format and gives you multiple options for students to show their how-to writing knowledge. Pick the format that works best for you. I have included two topics for August and September due to varying school start dates.}

*Idea Mats {I have provided two options for generating ideas. The first option gives students a word bank of the materials they may want to include in their how-to writing. You can display this page on your projector or place a laminated copy at a center. The second option has students generating their own ideas on a bubble map graphic organizer. You can also have your students use both idea mats.}
