Three activities relative to The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn; however all formats can be adapted to other novel study.
1. A vocabulary activity or assessment
2. A reading comprehension assessment with multiple uses (explained in the Preview).
3. A review sheet of material for the Final Test (posted on this site) or adaptable as a Review Game (explained in the Preview).
This is a journal assignment centered around a prevalent theme of this work but can be adapted to any novel study. The assignment involves multiple tasks: reading, writing, research, knowledge of literary terms, technology instruction, word processing ability and citation methodology. It also exhibits cross-curricular understanding - in this case, the relationship between literature and history.
Included with this product is a four page representation of an excellent example.
If you are required to produce a portfolio for teacher evaluation, this is an excellent example of using technology and teaching research skills which can be included in that portfolio.
This test covers the whole novel. The questions are primarily objective; however an essay is included, if you choose to use it. Be aware that there are also a few "T or F" pertaining to the time period during which the novel was written.
