Huck Finn Metaphor project with rubric: common core

This is a wonderful project. I am always so very pleased with the end results, and kids will often reference this project as one of the most memorable of their high school years. This assignment asks students to develop and graphically represent a metaphor for the river based on our study of the novel. The expectations and instructions are detailed and clear. The students must complete a close read of the text and use specific text to defend their metaphors (an alternate form of thesis defense). This is one of my very favorites. You will be amazed with the connections they make!
