An alternative to Elf on the Shelf!
In my class, I like to stay away from anything too "Christmas-y" and I absolutely ADORE Olaf to use for this month of December! I got the Hug and Hide Olaf but truth be told... I teach 2nd grade and I'm not impressed by the book. I don't even plan on using it. If I hadn't already bought it, I would just go buy a stuffed Olaf and use this product I created on my own!
The idea is similar to the Elf. Olaf is sent to our class from Arendelle because he's tired of the snow and wants to be in the sun for the winter! (Just so happens, we live in a place where it's sunny all year round!) Our school is a Leader in Me school so Elsa sends Olaf to learn more about being a leader and how to not get himself into trouble. He's to report back to Arendelle each night and my students are to fill out the "top secret" report form sent by Elsa about what they observe each morning about Olaf.
Everything in this product is done in Microsoft Word and can be edited to fit your classroom! There is an introduction letter, a morning report form, and multiple notes from Arendelle that Olaf comes back with. Some of the notes reward good behavior, others are reminders of what good behavior should be like. There are also blank notes included to create your own. And like I said, you can edit all of these to make them fit your own class.
Be creative and ENJOY!!
