This powerpoint introduces a project based on Huichol yarn paintings. Huichol art is heavily influenced by their religion and daily life. I have my students think about their own personal culture and beliefs and have them create a yarn painting based upon that idea. For best results, have the students use a piece of cardboard and draw their idea on it with colored chalk, pastels, crayon, or a colored pencil. Next students will use white, elmers glue to draw lines or shapes on the cardboard and lay down yarn on top it.
