Inquiry into the Digestive System (teacher guided), and the Human BODY SYSTEMS (student-lead inquiry). This is a comprehensive and detailed thematic inquiry unit paired with detailed use of the Expository / Explanation writing genre. Integrated learning for Science and Literacy aimed at Grades 3-6. Also includes IB PYP information for teachers working with the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

This resource includes everything I use to set up and run both teacher guided and student lead inquiry learning opportunities with students. Over 130 pages of ideas, resources, graphic organisers, student printouts, posters, activities and photographs. Updated and separated into the following 2 products for easy use:

1. Teacher guided inquiry unit for the digestive system. Teach your students about the stages of a robust inquiry process. Students work in cooperative groups as they develop these skills. The first, teacher directed inquiry product contains the following items:

2. Student lead inquiry unit for their choice of a body system. Now step back and guide your students through the stages of a robust inquiry process into the body system of their choice. Students could work on independent or group based research and presentations. This student lead inquiry resource partners with the teacher lead/ modelled inquiry for the digestive system, and contains the following items:

  1. Student lead inquiry into a body systems of choice
  2. Classroom photos of unit in action
  3. All support materials and teacher models
  4. Student hand-outs

Student lead inquiry unit into a Body System of own choice, includes:
