This activity can be used when teaching a ratio and proportion unit, or after introducing the golden ratio. Students will explore how the human body tends to have similar ratios from person to person. This lesson was used in a discovery education setting where students were broken up into groups. Each group found their ratios in reduced form. Then they worked at a group to find the most common ratio for each section. Then we compared our results as a class and had a great discussion about the ratios that we found hidden. The students really liked this activity.
