This resource includes 5 different teacher-created Common Core human body systems Document Based Question (DBQs) files that contain over 50 questions that reference primary and secondary sources such as graphs, tables, pictures, and excerpts of informational texts. These resources are aligned to science textbooks and their focus on cells, tissues, organs, and systems. The resources use modern-day informational resources to help students make connections between the science concepts and health-related conditions and issues in the world around them. Additionally, these resources help students to become more critical readers of informational texts and resources, and they teach students to evaluate resources for information. Each DBQ has the Literacy Standards for Writing in Science/Technical Subjects Common Core alignment next to it so that you will be able to help students make connections between social studies and their literacy standards.
