Human Body Unit
My students just love learning about the human body. It is also one of my most favorite units to teach.
When teaching this unit, I first start with organization. Students will make their body bag and doctor’s hats the first day. The following days we read the individual Medical Journals for each organ either in small group or whole group. We take notes using the Medical Chart note taking book or a graphic organizer for each organ. Finally we complete a project for each organ showing the organ in action. I have also included interactive notebook items for students to use if you are using a science interactive notebook. You will also find a planning sheet and writing paper for a culminating writing activity at the end of the unit. My students find this unit so exciting. I hope yours will too.
Here is a listing of what is include…
• 6 Body Part Medical Journals
• 6 Body Part Research Graphic Organizers
• 6 Body Part Interactive Notebook entries
• Medical Chart Information collection book
• 6 Body Part projects/models
• Writing graphic organizer and a variety of publishing writing paper.
• Instruction for making a Body Bag organizer
