This is a one-page Word document assignment that includes 13 questions and a drag and drop. The KEY is included. The answers can be found in the "Human Heart Open Notes" which is sold separately. The questions go in order of the open notes so there are no tricks or gimmicks. The drag and drop shows a depiction of the external human heart and includes 5 anatomical terms to drag to the appropriate structure on the diagram.
This assignment is used on the computer with a drop box such as Blackboard or School Space. It can be quickly and easily converted into a printable paper copy by simply removing the asterisks and adding lines for the students to write their answers instead of typing them. I use this format often so that we can save paper by using electronic copies of assignments.
The student answers the questions by placing the cursor between the red asterisks and begins typing the answer - that way they can easily see that they've answered the question and I can easily grade the assignment by reading what they've typed in red. The students' completed assignment will look much like the teacher's answer KEY if done correctly. I love technology!
However, this type of assignment - even the drag and drop - can simply be printed and used as a paper copy instead of an electronic copy. Removing the red asterisks and adding line for the students to write their answers can be done very easily. However, I don't modify the document at all - even for students that were absent and still need to complete the assignment without the computer. They simply add the answers to the document or, if they'd like, to separate sheet of paper.
