These are definitions and word lists that go along with a science lesson on human impact on water and air. Students are given a strip from the definition sheet (there are 4 strips of words on the word list sheet) and the definitions. They are to cut out the words and glue them next to the correct definitions.
Once my students are finished, I have them fold the paper and glue it into their science notebook so they don't lose it.
I have actually seen my students working quietly and quickly to look up definitions to match words to. The cutting and pasting give kinesthetic learners something to actually do. Where I have lots of problems getting my students to look up 5 definitions for their notebook, I have yet to have a student not complete a cut-n-paste vocabulary activity.
