This lab has two parts to it: one is the chicken wing dissection and the other is a simple human muscle action inquiry. This lab can be used instead of an animal dissection or can be used along with a dissection. Some questions are asked at the end of the activity and students are asked to draw, label and color the diagrams. Students will learn about the origin and insertion of muscles, tendons and ligaments, and flexors and extensors. There is also a comparison of the human arm and chicken wing.
