This activity gets everyone participating!
Students arrange themselves in order without talking, then the whole class votes and discusses if they are in the correct order. Can easily be adapted to make it a little easier or a little harder.
At one time, there are two students holding two different values of a number line. Two other students must create values (1 decimal, 1 fraction) that would fall between those two values on a number line. The class must vote if they agree or not.
Once an order has been agreed upon, two more students come up to create values for the number line.
Great conversations as you can get into negative values, fractions, decimals, absolute value, ect. Each class will be different!
Can last as long as you would like or can be a short warm-up or review.
