After spending many years struggling to teach my students how to count a collection of coins, I created this chart. It has truly made counting money a breeze for my students. The goal is to make sets of dollars. This is how you use the chart:
1. Have students sort a collection of coins.
2. Students then place the quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies on the chart.
3. When a dollar worth of coins has been placed onto the chart, they take the coins off.
It is much easier for students to count money by creating sets of dollars with their coins.
This resource has truly been a blessing in my quest to teach money. It is extremely effective.
