A menu of options for a final analysis of the themes of trust, respect, death, and survival in The Hunger Games.
Assess your student's ability to analyze theme in a fun and engaging final project for the major themes in this novel.
Students select which option appeals to them and then examine closely how the characters determine and impact the themes in the tale.
1) Kill Chart: Create a chart that shows every death that occurs throughout the story of The Hunger Games and the impact they may have had on Katniss, our main character.
2) Relationship Web/Tree: Create a relationship web that shows Katniss’ relationships to the other characters in the story telling how Katniss feels about this person by including one quote from the text.
3) Tribute “Stat Card” – Create a visually interesting and informative "Trading Card" for Katniss, Peeta, Foxface, Rue, Cato, Thresh, & Haymitch. Highlighting their most important moment in the Games.
Each project also requires a paragraph that deals with what the student has learned about the related theme.
