Let the Hunger Games begin! This fun review game can be played many times in any class, for any topic that students need to review. French and Spanish versions are also available in my store.
Students divide into "Districts" (teams) and try to win the Hunger Games by having the most points at the end of the game. Points are earned and lost through "Gifts" or "Dangers" that come with each question, and are correlated to gifts and dangers in the Hunger Game books.
Teacher Prep: Prepare up to 30 questions over any topic that your students need to review (math problems, vocab words, chapter review questions, etc.).
Directions: The teacher asks each District a question. If they answer correctly, they have to decide whether to accept whatever is on the next slide, or give it to another District. The next slide isn't revealed until AFTER the team decides to accept or pass it on. Then the teacher reveals the next slide, which may be a "Gift" worth points, or a "Danger", where the team loses points. It may even be poison berries from the Nightlock bush, which will set the team's score back to zero.
Full instructions are on the first few slides of the PowerPoint.
The game can be played as often as you like by mixing up the order of the Gifts and Dangers in the PowerPoint slides each time you play, so the students never know what's coming.
"And may the odds be ever in your favor!"
