I have students with food allergies and also don't want to feed lots of candy to my students, so I created "Hunting for Easter Egg Compliments."
It's a fun way to do an Easter egg hunt in your classroom. Instead of filling eggs with candy, why not fill them with compliments! Give each student a plastic egg. Ask each student to write his or her name on the egg or a sticker to place on the egg. Put all the eggs in a basket. Have your students secretly pick an egg from the basket and hide it in their desk. Give each student a paper egg from the next page. Ask each student to write a compliment for the classmate whose egg they selected. They can decorate the back of the egg when they are done writing. Encourage your students to compliment someone for their accomplishments, actions, or behaviors, rather than their appearance. For more fun, encourage your students to use the special Easter words from the word list below. Each student then puts the compliment in the egg. Then hide the eggs and have students hunt for the egg with their name on it.
