Expose students to a variety of hunting regulations in the state for several different hunting seasons. This is a neat project that allows the students to work in a group setting as well as complete part of it on their own. It incorporates science, reading, and presentation skills. It would be a great addition to a conservation, ecology, checks and balances, or many other lessons.
1. Determine the hunting regulations for various seasons and explain the purpose of a hunting season
2. Present and showcase a skill that is needed to go hunting or to increase the student’s skill
3. Explain why hunting is essential to animal populations and what would happen if hunting regulations were not in place.
4. Explain the role of checks and balances in a population.
