This is a TWIST of the original tale of three little pigs. This is the story of one little pig that found himself engineering and designing three effective houses as he has encountered three different hurricanes over time.
Plan to build three houses that would withstand a hurricane using the engineering design. Build one out of straw (toothpicks), one out of twigs (popsicle sticks), and one out of bricks (dominoes or brownies cut to domino size). Test your house during the hurricane (blow dryer) for 60 seconds. Record your data and complete the engineer reflections.
*Dominoes (or brownies cut into same size)
*1 container of play dough
*30 inches of scotch tape
*1 yard of string
*3 sheets of construction paper or card stock
*You only use the materials listed or provided for us.
*Your structures have a way for the pig to get out.
*Your structures can withstand the winds of the hurricanes.
*Your structures can be moved safely and completely to the testing area.
*You should collaborate fairly and respectfully as an engineering team.
Design and build each house and record data.
