Product Description
Whether you are learning about Hurricanes in Science or Social Studies or reading about them in ELA, this activity is an excellent addition to your unit.

Students are asked to step into the role of a news reporter to interview anyone who has experienced a hurricane. They ask questions about their personal feelings and the weather phenomena before, during, and after the storm. Through a series of interview questions, they gain enough information to write a news article about the person they interviewed and the hurricane that person through which their interviewee lived.

Included in this product you will get directions for your students, a list of questions for their interview, including a few blanks for them to add student created questions, a template for their article, and a rubric for you to grade their work.

This project is an excellent way to get students' families and the community involved in their learning.
