Give your students the opportunity to learn more about hurricanes and earthquakes through a webquest!
This webquest will have your students explore 3 websites where they will read informational text and literature as well as examine photographs. Students can apply what they are learning in your class to the information they find online to extend their understanding of hurricanes and earthquakes. Through this webquest, students will develop science vocabulary and use many skills such as making predictions, drawing conclusions, using context clues, observing, and making inferences. This webquest is geared towards 3rd and 4th graders but could also be used by 2nd or 5th graders.
Included in this file are Teacher Directions, a list of Common Core Standards related to the activities, and an Answer Key. This webquest is divided into 3 parts for students and there is a student worksheet for each part. Students can complete all 3 parts or you can choose to have them complete only certain parts. They could complete the webquest independently or with a partner. You could use this webquest for whole class instruction, as a center, or as an extension for students who need enrichment.
