3 Act math allow students to solve questions in a classroom setting like they would in a real world way. During this activity students will be shown a very short video that might prompt some questions; if this is the first time they do a 3 Act task you might have to prompt them by asking "what do you wonder?" "I wonder how heavy it is". Do not discount any question the student ask and write as many of them on the board as possible.
Act 1: Ask student what they wonder about what they saw and record it
Once they have wondered enough and have gotten the question we are trying to solve (how much will the electricity cost to grow 1 head of lettuce).
Act 2: Answer the students questions that will help them solve the problem (the power bill, and the kWh meter).
