Hygiene Personal Care Character Ed Lesson w 6 video links Friendship
Well, if you are an educator, you know the “aroma” that becomes apparent after outdoor recess on many days. As a classroom teacher, I vividly remember the smell of a class returning from PE or coming in from recess, especially when it is warm outside.
I developed this lesson to help to educate students in a fun and humorous way on the importance of good personal hygiene to friendship, acceptance by others, success in life, and staying healthy. I have found that by making it funny that students do not take the information personally, but still receive and learn the information.
In this lesson, you will be covering the concepts of:
• The reasons we must bathe our bodies;
• The reasons we must clean our teeth;
• The proper way to wash our hands;
• How good hygiene makes us healthier!
This presentation has 18 slides and includes notes and discussion tips to use to evaluate students’ understanding. It also has a link to 6 videos that support the covered concepts. The videos range from 3-5 minutes and are done in a humorous way to help kids learn and have fun at the same time.
I would schedule a minimum of 30-45 minutes for this lesson and, depending on your delivery pace and the amount of discussion that you have.
I have included additional resources at the end to help you in your presentation and background development in case you want to tailor this to an older audience.
The PowerPoint is customizable and has a master slide that can be copied to make your own slides to personalize the lesson for your students and teaching style. The presentation includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
Videos are NOT embedded but are links.
