To engage students in the activity, they watch a rap song parody that introduces Hammurabi's Code. They explore a variety of primary and secondary sources to answer focus questions. Students then practice analyzing a primary source by finding evidence in Hammurabi's Code to support specific statements. To apply their learning, students are able to choose between a variety of final activities that meet a variety of learning style needs.
