This social story was created to teach expected behaviors and socially appropriate expectations within the classroom by encouraging students to use their "words" or augmentative/alternative communication rather than being physical. This particular social story was originally created for individuals who would hit/bite/kick, or disrupt the classroom with outburst when angry, not being able to verbalize until fully escalated. This story targets the following: Explanation of reasons why one could be "mad" , examples of expected or alternative behavior targets, social context with peers/teachers, and using polite words to request a break if needed. I have used this story primarily with my ASD students and it has served as a great basis to work on creating our own scripts, identifying expected/unexpected behaviors, and reflecting on behaviors to change for the "next time". I hope you find it helpful!
To use the book:
Print out the pages and sort by page number in the bottom right hand corner. You can choose to laminate or place in page protectors if you'd like. I just ended up binding mine together.
