This lesson plan and corresponding worksheets are designed for a close reading lesson for chapters 15, 16, and 17 of Malala Yousafzai's memoir, I Am Malala - How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World (Young Reader's Edition).
In this lesson, students will take 2-4 days (depending on reading level, etc.) to dig through the three chapters, annotate the text, and come up with strong, evidence-based conclusions about the main idea of these chapters. These chapters focus on major changes to the lives of Malala and her family.
This file comes with a comprehensive lesson plan and worksheets that accompany chapters 15, 16, and 17 of the text. The text itself is not included in this file, however, there are excerpts included for the homework worksheets attached.
