This assignment requires students to cite evidence to express different perspectives of social reform movements in the 1800’s. It is easy to understand and can be applied to English class topics as well. While used the textbook in the directions, the text source can be easily modified to include a variety of text such as primary sources, DBQ’s, multimedia, etc. This assignment supports the Common Core State Standards through citing evidence from text to provide an accurate perspective. The depth of knowledge and understanding of the topic requires students to be precise in their writing to express an accurate perspective unique to their reform. This assignment is intended to allow students the opportunity to cite evidence and convey experiences of a group of people in a creative manner.
