Product Description
Sometimes as a teacher, we battle with getting the parents on board. While I teach life skills daily in my special Ed classroom, many of these skills are not being transferred into the home and many of the skills are not possible for me to teach at school on the elementary level. I'm talking about skills such as making their bed, bathing themselves, or helping with household chores. And sure, while at school I may be able to teach them to make a sandwich and pour their own juice at school, but are they doing it at home, or are their parents still doing it for them? This is a problem I have noticed with my students, which is what led to the creation of these life skills homework task sheets!

Included in this set are 35 homework task sheets. They are designed to send one home each Monday. That's life skills homework for the entire year!!! Student's take one home on Monday and practice that skill every night that week. Parents sign and return each day with comments.

A parent letter is also included to send home explaining the program, along with Life Skills Milestones for ages 2 - 13 to educate parents on what age-appropriate skills their child should be doing. In addition, there are helpful websites included in the parent handout; and for the teacher, a skill tracking sheet to track which skills you have sent home with each student since all students will not be working on the same skills at the same time. What else I love is that each homework task includes a visual for students to help them understand the task and a line for them to sign their "contract" or for teachers to write their name if they are not capable of writing.
