When young children read, you will often see them looking at words on the page and pretend to read what they say by looking at the picture on the page instead. This Concepts of Print activity helps prevent this. Each story consists of identical pictures and encourages reading word by word with the same pattern: "Bird." "The bird." "I see the bird." "I see the blue bird." Each word on the page also has a dot underneath it so they can easily follow along as they try to read the words. Some of the words may be hard for your student to read but that is perfectly okay. With repetitive patterns, they will begin to read the words that are challenging for them.
This book about Spring includes:
- 20 Printable pages (68 mini-book pages total)
- A color and black/white version
