How to be assertive (and what is it) is something that a lot of students need to be taught. In this pack, students learn 3 different ways to respond to others: passive, assertive, and aggressive, through a set of posters that use kid-friendly language. Also included is a set of 12 scenario cards for situations both at school and at home. The activity idea page gives you multiple ways to use the cards that best fits the needs of your class. Some of the examples include:
*Standing up to a bully
*Getting a parent to sign an important form
*Telling a student to stop distracting you
*Asking for help on a math problem
Use these cards at the beginning of the year to help build classroom community and to hold students responsible for their feelings and needs or use these with individual students who need a little extra help in building this skill.
Both a color version and a printer friend version is included
