I Can Calm Myself Down: Adapted Social Story and Interactive Boards

In my autism classroom, I use social stories daily to help teach my students appropriate school behaviors and those unwritten social rules. This product includes my social story for using a calming routine when angry/upset.

There are a ton of resources included in this pack that you can use during a social skills group or one on one with a student that really needs a positive way to calm down.

Here's what is included:
-24 Adapted book pages and pieces to assembly a book unique to your classroom/student needs
-Calming choices/poor choices sorting board
-Calming routine strips
-"I feel ___" board with emotion pieces
-"I need ___" board

Since this is an adapted book, there are several different ways you can assemble it based on the needs of your students. Pages and matching picture pieces can easily be removed if they do not apply to the student or your classroom. You can also use real photos of your student and your school/classroom to help him/her make a more personal connection to the story.
