This is a letter sorting packet which is ideal for both transitional kindergarten students and kinderkids. It was designed to provide students with practice identifying upper and lowercase letters and sorting them in a simple manner. All twenty six letters are included and can be introduced in the order necessary to reflect your reading program. This is an excellent activity for implementing the common core, requiring students to attend to details. The following skills are provided:
1. Pocket chart letters are provided in both upper and lowercase. Each has a small picture at the top of the card representing the initial sound of that letter.
2. Cut and paste activities for both upper and lowercase letters are provided.
3.Students are asked to sort letters using a variety of fonts.
4.Assessment activities or review work is also provided.
The alphabet cards can be used during large group instruction and the sorts are designed for small group instruction. Eventually, students can use these during independent work time.
